Fall 2009

Scholarship Recipients

Ethan and Mara: In Honor of Rachel Bolan Southworth. Ethan and Mara are twins using their funding toward biomedical treatments with the Biometrical Energy Center Program. Mr. Southworth, better known as the bassist and songwriter for National Recording Artists, Skid Row, helped make our dream this fall a reality. When asked if Skid Row would come and support Project iAm, without hesitation, Mr. Southworth agreed and did everything possible to promote our event. Because of the national notoriety of Skid Row, Project iAm was able to attract supporters from all over and gain attention in places we normally could not have.

Luke and Lily: In Honor of Mike Crompton. Luke and Lily are twins and using their funds toward the CHIP’s Program. Mr. Crompton has continuously supported Project iAm with his Wendy’s franchise by not only financial means, but also by helping get us national exposure. Due to all his dedication and hard work, we were able to successfully present Acoustics for Autism…Plugged In! and we have new ventures for the future

Mason and Maddox: In Honor of Napoleon Harley-Davidson. Mason and Maddox are twins and using their funds toward their treatment at Toledo Hearing and Speech Center. Napoleon Harley-Davidson and Karen Huss have supported us from day one without any asking on our part. Always willing to help promote, they also sponsored a Harley run for Project iAm at this year’s Acoustics for Autism…Plugged In!

Gavin: In Honor of Gabriel Begeman. Gavin is using his funds toward the Son-Rise Program. Gabriel Begeman is the little boy whose struggles were the inspiration for Project iAm. Because of his hard work and his family’s perseverance, Gabriel is coping and living with Autism as a secondary lifestyle to his “typical” behaviors. We hope all our children can have the same success that Gabe has had, thus the reason for starting Project iAm.

Alex: In Honor of Michael Glabicki. Alex is using his scholarship money toward the CHIP program. Michael Glabicki, the lead singer and genius behind the band Rusted Root, has been an avid supporter of Project iAm since our beginning. Michael has played two concerts for Project iAm, the second at his request. Because of his influence on the music world, he has brought national attention to Project iAm and helped bring people who would have never given us a second look to our events.

Shamus: In Honor of Dave Carpenter. Shamus will be using his funds for the ASNO program. Project iAm was initially formed for a benefit; the name, Acoustics for Autism, was created one night while Nicole and Dave were talking music and helping children. Dave is the musical organizer behind Acoustics for Autism and has donated his time and energy to making it a success. Always a performer at all our events, Dave and his wife Rebecca have given Project iAm more than one could ever imagine.
