Scholarships
OUR GOAL: Project iAm’s main goal is to provide scholarship opportunities to children living within the autism spectrum to our Toledo Area Families. As funds become available, we hope to distribute finances to families no matter how big or small the amount may be. Please feel free to fill out our scholarship applications for our committee to review, but note that we will post application deadline dates for each cycle of funding. We hope we can continue to help children receive the treatment they need to fight this prominent disorder
CRITERIA: Project iAm prides itself on distributing funds to families, no matter what their choice of treatment or economic status may be. Project iAm does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, or any other preferences. Please note that because it is our local community that supports us, we aim to redistribute our funding throughout it. Although there are no lines that are necessarily drawn, please take that into consideration before submitting an application. As our scholarship committee begins their long process of choosing which children receive funding, several factors come into play, including, but not limited to the following:
*your child’s story and your families struggles with this disorder
*financial need
*volunteer work and time contribution to Project iAm
*physical relation to the Toledo area
*types and places of treatment: Please note, that Project iAm tries to grant funding to ALL types of therapy. Our decisions are partly based on the number of applicants from one type or place of therapy versus another.
Feel free to fill out an application by its deadline and mail to:

Ben (in honor of Lenny Sniegocki): Ben received a scholarship for his involvement with the Capable Kids program. Ben’s scholarhip was named in honor of our go to guy Lenny for all of his hard work at ALL of the Project iAm events. You can either catch Lenny stapling, hanging, inflating, pounding, or duct taping something to help our events be the best they can. Lenny is a true hero and volunteer for Project iAm…and now for Ben.
Michael (in honor of Lexi Staples): Michael received funding toward his CHIP program costs. Michael’s scholarship namesake, Lexi, is the artistic queen of Project iAm. Whether you ask her to whip up a small painting or help with a flier, within hours, we have a beautiful masterpiece to help make our events special. Lexi is also the founder of the Toledo Pride festival which uses Project iAm as it’s only charity for donations as well as for volunteers. Lexi is a truly a special woman and Michael is lucky to have a scholarship honoring her!
Adam (in honor of Jim Tressel): Adam is the lucky winner of the Jim Tressel Scholarship, which he will be using for his treatment at the CHIP program. Mr. Tressel has been supportive of Project iAm from day one and continues to send memorabilia for our auctions and raffles every year. Mr. Tressel has always shown us such generosity and class in his giving and we are so very sad to see him go. All the best for you Coach Tressel…we are proud to have been able to even remotely returned your generosity by naming this scholarship for Adam after you.
Devan (in honor of Shelly Nyitray): Devan will be using his scholarship money to fund his Capable Kid’s summer program. Shelly Nyitray has been a long time supporter of Project iAm since our first event. The thing is however, she volunteers and helps us all the way from Chicago! Shelly is so excited and has such enthusiasm when it comes to obtaining gifts for our auctions and raffles and does all of this work without ever having been able to attend an event. Shelly is a true giver and we are proud to honor her in this way.
